Honorable Ministers,
To restore the full truth, the O.P.K.E. informs you that the whole of our industry are 46,000 retail outlets, kiosks – tobacconists. The while wholesale outlets Tobacco products in four cities, Athens, Piraeus, Thessaloniki, Patras are 133 stations. Elsewhere in Greece Companies and Manufacturers have representatives. The end of 2009 before the first increase of the excise tax rates before taxes was 60.4% of the Tobacco 31.3% in Peripterouchous and 8.3% in wholesale. The draft Law “FIGHTING FRAUD, STAFFING OF AUDIT SERVICES AND OTHER PROVISIONS OF COMPETENCE OF THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE” and Article 47 Fri the 6th is restoring the great injustice suffered by the industry Peripterouchon – tobacconists and hitherto have been closed over 2000 colleagues their business, and many extend their operation in the hope that you will support them.
Honorable Ministers, we support the draft law and ask you not to narrow it down by the end of 2011 as referring to the recent changes, because all our colleagues are trying every day from 16 to 24 hours to support your Ministry of great economic effort picking up and paying excise duty. You do understand that the anguish of us all is whether we will be able to remain in bondage and not to stay unemployed. Daily throughout the Territory we live long nightmare of poverty.
