The Federation of Professionals – Craft & Trade Pref. In the context of informing operators of our district held a meeting with the Harbor Master Mr. Volos. Kanakis Christos at the offices of the Port Authority of Volos. The topics discussed were the major everyday problems faced by SMEs, such as rent, utilities, suppliers, insurance funds, municipal taxes, Tax, and the big problem scourge of trafficking – illegal trade. We explained that we begin as Federation the great consumer awareness campaign to prevent the minimum possible the serious problem of illegal trade – smuggling and of course we asked for the immediate intervention of the Port Police for daily checks and frequent patrols. It not highlighted, that the hand of our fellow citizens and media is to finally stop this situation. The Volos Harbor Master Mr. Kanakis after being informed, committed to progress in the area of control to continue more intensively and daily checks in cooperation with the Municipal Authority to minimize the major problem of illegal trade – smuggling facing all SMEs. The Federation subsequently held a meeting with the Municipal Authority and the Deputy Mayor of New Anchialos Mr. Pantelis Pelican at the offices of O.E.V.E.M. and called for at least six months based advertising campaign in the media in order to have high hopes for consumer awareness. Of course Mr. Pelican is committed to bring the matter to the Municipal Authority.
The O.E.V.E.M. in an effort to prevent the scourge of illegal trade he visited and asked Prosecutor’s mandate to all concerned bodies in combating illegal trade – smuggling and deal with the phenomenon of the informal economy in order to step up controls and are more effective, and finally filed a case against illegal itinerant vendors and against those responsible.
